Ged Killen, MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, said:
In her first speech to parliament, Jo said: ‘We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us,’ and I think that she would be proud of her family and friends’ efforts to unite communities across the UK with the Great Get Together.
Thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed a cuppa with us, and to all who made donations for the day including Asda Blantyre and Lightbody’s in Hamilton.

The Great Get Together was well attended and supported by local business such as Asda, Blantyre and Lightbody’s, Hamilton.
Monica Lennon, MSP for Central Scotland, said:
It’s important to come together to honour Jo’s legacy and it was fantastic that so many people attended the Great Get Together on the weekend that would have been Jo’s 45th Birthday.
Bringing our community together makes us stronger and happier. Most of us have more in common than we think.
